SBA to Conduct Entrepreneur Workshop Series
For Small Business
Virginia small business owners should plan to attend one of 30 workshops offering information about the U.S. Small Business Administration's financial assistance, counseling and procurement programs in cities throughout the state.
Small business owners will get specific information about SBA's products and services during the workshops, particularly, how the agency’s programs can benefit small business growth and prosperity.
“The ultimate goal of the workshops is to insure that small business owners are made aware of the assistance available to them,” said Ronald E. Bew, SBA’s Richmond District Office District Director. “We can assist entrepreneurs with new and growing businesses to resolve business issues and gain access to capital. Additionally, we can offer assistance and guidance to federal procurement opportunities.”
“The agenda for these events includes an overview of all of the SBA’s programs,” Bew said. “The SBA helps small businesses succeed in three primary ways, access to capital, counseling and training, and federal procurement. The economy of Virginia and the nation is at its strongest when our small businesses are well-informed and financially strong. This is a great opportunity for all business owners, regardless of whether they are start-up businesses or existing operations.”
Significantly increasing the number of Virginia entrepreneurs and business owners who avail themselves of the SBA’s programs and services is also a goal of this initiative, Bew explains. “We will accomplish this by providing increased counseling and training services and by promoting federal procurement. Achieving this will make Virginia’s economy stronger.”
